How hard is it to get a woman from the Ukraine into the U.S.A? |
Travel Info How hard is it to get a woman from the Ukraine into the U.S.A? Travel Tips I am guessing miraclev_2001 came to the US at least 5-10 years ago. It is exceptionally difficult to bring a single Ukrainian woman from Ukraine to the US. As of 4 or 5 years ago, the US has cracked down on the "Russian brides" that came from Russia and Ukraine, in an attempt to protect both men here, and women there. 1. It is almost literally impossible to get a tourist visa (B1/B2) for a young (under 45) single Ukrainian woman. It is a waste of time and money (not to mention frustration) to even try. 2. Student visas can be had, but there are only 2 ways to obtain them: a) She must arrange a work or study exchange program, through her university in Ukraine, with a US university that has a co-op agreement with her university. b) She must register with the US university, deposit enough cash (in US dollars) with the US university to cover all tuition and living expenses for her entire time of study, and have the US university send a special form to the US Embassy saying she is expected and has deposited these funds. 3. Fiancee/spouse visa are easier to get, but the US Government makes the process difficult. This helps to ensure that the couple has a real relationship. They figure if it can endure the stress and time delays in obtaining the visa, they likely have a true love relationship, and not a relation of convenience. It often takes 2 years to meet all the requirements and gather the required documentation. You also must have visited her at least 1 time in the past 2 years. The process works. But you will not get a "mail order bride" from Ukraine or Russia. Source(s): Personal experience, and speaking to many immigration lawyers. Other Travel Tips well it depends. You have to send an official invitation, make sure that you can prove that you will take care of her while she isin the US(she will stay with you,you will pay her bills and pay for the doctor if she needs one). And then just hope and pray that she gets her visa. It was pretty easy for me to get mine when my friend invited me.She should also have proof that she will not stay in the US ( she is a student,or she has a fantastic job,or she is taking care of her elderly parents). you can e-mail me if you need more details. Good luck!!! Are you going to get her to Russia before USA or after that? will she fit in your suitcase |
