I have always wanted to go to Russia on holiday, but what is the best way to see Russia? |
Travel Info Note: No jokes about radiation on planes please! Is a weekend break to St Petersburg and Moscow the best or a train journey from West to East or anything else I would like to see different parts of Russia - not just the usual candidates of Moscow and St Petersburg Travel Tips Go to Yekaterinburg... the place where the Communist killed the Tsar and his family. Large city in the Urals. You will see real Russia out there. Travel by the local trains (but keep you eye on your bags at all times - seriously!). You can hire a four berth '1st class' cabin... not great, but safer and inexpensive for westerners. Fly via Moscow and connect to Yekaterinburg. See St. Petersberg... one of the most beautiful cities in the world. BUT, watch out for the muggers of foreign tourists. You could sail down the Dnipre river across the Ukraine... very interesting Go to Kiev (I know... its Ukraine... but still interesting) See Chernobyl ($50 for a days trip last time I was there) - you get about 3 or 4 hours there... a 1.5 hour minibus ride from Kiev. So.. a few suggestions... BTW I used to work out there after the fall of Communism... so been there etc... if you want to know more feel free to e-mail me Others just dont! russia is OK, but Ukrainya is premium place to be, no? eyes open? openin ur eyes is a start You have a poor english The best way to see Russia is on TV. Honestly. I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO GO THEIR TOO! i love seeing different kinds of people, anyways from what i heard st.Petersbug is better, just research it:) |
