Travel Info My friend wants 2 come for a holiday from russia does she need a visa how much r they any1 plz x? Travel Tips I don't want to be sarcastic but good luck. I don't know where you are so I'm going to talk about USA since I'm an American. The U.S. Embassy will not allow you to travel to the United States unless you have own an apartment, job, have strong family roots, and verifed money in the bank in her country. This is not easy since Russian people's mentality is to hide money under mattress. They don't trust banks and for good reason. Banks have gone out of business and taken their life's savings. So theirs a conflict. It's not as easy as you think. I've been married to an Ukrainian medical doctor for 18 months and I'm still waiting. I have an American friend who waited to bring his Ukrainian girlfriend to visit him and they rejected her. You can do it if you do it right: 1) Look at your Embassy's law to find out what the requirements are. 2) Check out the state department for the form you need to sponsor her and also the requirements. I dont like your first answer at al! I used to have friends come to the UK and they all needed visa's but its not a great problem to get the visa, the cost in sterling isnt a lot but in Russian money I suppose it could appear expensive. I dont know where you are from but a quick phone call to your embassy should solve this for you and your friend. I used to arrange exchange visits between Brits and Russians in the UK , we all had a great time together,I never came across a Russian who wanted to stay forever in the UK, but the exchange visits certainly helped with our understanding of each others cultures! I hope you sort out your visa question, and at least please welcome your friend on my behalf, (we are not all bigots). First answer is really something!!! Yes, your friend does need the visa in order to come here. He/She would need to go to the embassy after he/she gets an invitation letter from you with the passport and $$ (somewhere around $100). The will be issued for three month. I heard there are some difficulties, so make sure he/she did it advance. Good luck, and enjoy the holidays together, Svetlana My own experience it is not easy to go to US from Russia.American counsil will talk to u,and you have to prove that you are not camel |
