How to earn money in moscow in 2 months as a foreigner?

Travel Info
Hi, I want to go to Moscow in February. I want to see the city, the people, learn a bit russian. I have 2 months. But I dont want to be a tourist, I want to earn my living. What I can is: languages (english and german) but not russian. By that time I am ginna learn the basics. So do you have any idea how to earn money in a completely unknown city where I dont even speak the language? I would prefer to do some non-physical job. Something, where I can use my language skills. I got some money, some $5000 to invest in myself if there is a good idea. I like negotiations. But have no idea how to do it if I dont speak russian. My other idea was to do some translations. From russian to english. For example menus in restaurants. Or other small things. If the business goes well, I could employ some russians translations. Any good idea would been highly appriciated. Any personal experience in similar situation or about Moscow. ps.: last summer I did it in London for 6 weeks, I was successful

With such capital I suggest you to buy:
Black leather jacket (visit any Moscow market, and you will find it)
Caucasian cap
Old Volga (eventually a Zigluly will work also fine)
park in front of a central metro station, and ask Taxi...Taxi..Taxi sir...
you will not looks like a tourist, is not a physical job, and for sure, you can earn same money with the capital that you have in your pocket!
Good luck.
P.s. is 300 bucks are still left, buy also a GPS navigator, all the other Caucasian illegal taxi at the metro station will day from Jealousy, adn will help you to find the testination for your customer!!

When I finished college, I went all over Europe as a teacher of English as a foreign language. Do it. You can't believe how many people want to learn English. Good pay.
Do not try to open a business in Russian. The crookiness is unbelievable. You have to pay bribes to everyone to get anything done.
I would go to one of the many schools that teach english or german and offer your sevices. They don't pay much. You can do private lessons too. Do that menu thing too.
Try to meet a female who will be strictly a friend. She can help you learn Russian. Plus she can help you advertize in newspapers for students who want to learn English and German.
I would suggest you to give an advertisement or ask someone to help you do it in Russian and let people know that you are American who is willing to teach. Or go to the schools or colleges, may be universities, ask them do they need an American teacher? or tutors. I bet you'll find something.

Good luck and enjoy your trip,
Svetlana
