What places in Russia would you suggest to go to.? |
Travel Info I'm thinking about Moscow and St.Petersbug any where else. Travel Tips Petersburg is a must. If you go to Moscow, check out a few of the Golden Ring towns surrounding Moscow. If you are in Petersburg it's also worth taking a trip out to Petergoff and Pushkin. Really, really pretty. In European Russia, Volgograd is very interesting if you like history at all and even if you don't, it's a pretty little city. Further afield, Kazan is amazing, as is Perm, Yekaterinberg, Tyumen, Novosibirsk and Vladivostok (but that's a 9 hour flight from Moscow or a couple of weeks on a train). Big country, Russia!!!! In European Russia, Moscow, Petersburg, Kazan and Volgograd are a nice mix. Bear in mind, Kazan and Volgograd are both 24 hours by train from Moscow. Others Pskov, Kaliningrad MOSCOW It is very beautiful and gigantic city. The population is 20,000,000. Walk by subway. It is safe until 00.00. Places to visit: Red Square, Tretyakovka Gallery, Ermitage Garden, Tverskaya street, Moskva river by boat, Arbat etc. SANKT PETERBURG This city is more beautiful than Moscow. Please, visit: Ermitage, Tsarskoe selo, Avrora boat, Petrodvorets, Petergof, Nevski prospekt etc. You can walk by subway. It is safe. According to the last information there are three the most beautiful cities in Russia: Vyborg, Veliki Ustyug, Suzdal. Of course you shouldn't forget about the night clubs. Hard Rocka Cafe on Old Arbat, 16 tons, Vermel. These are great! Don't miss St. Petersburg. Also consider taking a tour of the Golden Ring (historic old cities around the Volga River). That will take you off the beaten path a little bit, if you're interested. I suggest st basil's cathedral the kremlin the museums I would also get a dk eyewitness travel guide on moscow russia Defenitely Moscow and St.Petersburg. These are the largest and most interesting cities, with the most places to visit and the most interesting nightlife. However, as most major cities, they do not really represent the whole country. (Like - have you seen the US when you have been to New York or the UK when you have been to London? To overcome that you might decide to visit a third city, Nizhni Novgorod, Kazan or Volgograd for example. Or you could decide to take the boat to travel from Moscow to St.Pete or vice versa. That's a four day trip, stops in a couple of small places for a couple of hours. Gives you more an impression of the 'real' Russia. |
