I will add that in ancient Rus empire expanded from the settlements on the Dnipro River, and eventually became Ukraine and Russia. Their ancient ancestry is as brothers. Also, when Russia (USSR) took control of Ukraine, many Ukrainians were shipped off to Russian regions such as Siberia, and many Russians moved into Ukraine. Under the USSR, movement between the two countries was done freely. Because of these things, the Ukrainians and Russians consider themselves "brothers", and many Ukrainians will simply tell people "I am Russian"... especially Eastern Ukrainians. It's their language mostly (and they speak so much and sooooo fast) and their manner of dressing. Cooking habits also. Actually, we used to be one country (I mean Russia and Ukraine) so we're much alike. I'd say no difference, maybe just some, cause most of the times we all lived together - USSR. They have some their own traditions, but at most not a big difference! It's like one country with different nations - they have common things and not. good luck Not all ukrainian women are alike. And neither are russian women. Russia has many minorities who speak various languages and belong to different religions. And Ukraine also has some minorities who are different from everyone else. It's like asking is there a culture difference between Canadians and Americans? For many Canadians and Americans there is very little difference. But most African Americans are very different from African Canadians. And French Canadians are very different from English Americans and from English-speaking Canadians. It's like that in Russia and Ukraine too. Many people in both countries are very similar to each other. But millions of people in both countries are also very different in terms of their cultures, religions, languages, and histories. I know from growing up in western ukraine there is a difference. We are not like the russian women because we were culturally influenced by poland and other neighboring countries to our west. But generally the eastern ukrainian women are quite like russian women. =) Most eastern ukrainians speak russian. |
