Some help with some Russian phrases...? |
Travel Info Hey everyone, My girlfriend's family just adopted a girl from Ukraine. I'm going over there to visit for the first time tonight. I'd like to speak to her in Russian. I speak some Russian (in my 4th semester), but as you can image, we learn very few colloquial/idiomatic phrases. In additon, I don't have much of an idea how to change my speach to converse with a 7 year old. Anyone (native speaker) know some idiomatic ukrainian-russian phrases? I.e., the best way (to say to an unfamiliar 7-year-old) welcome to the US, it's good to finally meet you, etc etc. Things that would be appropriate and familiar to say to her. I just don't know enough to think in Russian, colloquial speech, and 7-yr-old :-). Any and all ideas would be helpful. Thanks so much!!! -mike Travel Tips I am a native russian speaker. To a 7 yr. old child huh? 1. Ochin priyatno staboy pasznakomitsa. Since she is a child, you don't want to use such sophisticated language? 2. Why don't you ask her how she likes it here so far? Kak tebye nravitsa v'amerike? 3. What was her experience like on the plane? Ti ne ustala na samalote? Shto ti fso eta vremya delala? Spala? 4. Did she make any friends here yet? Ti yesho padrugi ne fstrechalya? 5. Is she excited to attend school here? Tebye interesna payte skora fshkolu zdes v'amerike? 6. ask her if she likes how her bedroom looks? Tebye nravitsa kak tvaya spalnya vigladet? Good Luck! If you have any more phrases you wanna tell her PM me at tamarad486@yahoo.com |
