How鈥檚 life in Moscow?

How鈥檚 life in Moscow for international students? Does anyone studying in a Russian university regret it?

Travel Tips
I have stayed in Moscow several times over many years - and the last time, just recently. It has its incredibly beautiful spots, but in general, I am leaning towards thinking it is almost too much of a hassel. It is possible to get an apartment by the week or by the month - which can be an interesting way to experience the place. Learning the metro was a must in my opinion, and it took awhile to get comfortable with it. I ended up making my own (enlarged) metro maps and comparing them with the signs before I jumped on a train. Once your on the train, you have to be sure you know where you are and count the stations as many or most or all of them are not marked or poorly marked. Taxis are terrible and can be rip-offs. Hiring a driver can be fun, but expensive. Expenses in Moscow can be prohibitive.

It depends on your skin color, I'm sorry to say. There have been instances of students with darker skin being beaten up both in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Russian people are generally not racist, but there are some gangs that make it their goal to attack every foreigner they see. They are not that numerous, so don't get too scared, but I just thought I should warn you.
Live in Moscow is very fast......At night you can walk only at center,at others place you can rob by some buggers.Moscow is the first expansive capitol of Earth at this year. They have high salary to 3 times....They is like independet countery in country.Naziesm is not very prograsive there, becouse 5.000.000 are black scin immigrants.....soon there will born coucusian naziesm.....
Hi! I think that it's a very interesting experience for international students to study in Moscow. No doubt, it's better to have some friends and walk with them (especially at the beginning of your studies) because you can get lost easily. To my mind there's less nationalism in Moscow than in St.Petersburg. However, i think you'll like it here! Take care and enjoy it!
i'm a student :)
