From SFO Airport, you take U.S. 101 North. SFO is closer (1 hour 20 minutes) than Sacramento (1 hour 50 minutes). However, traffic in San Francisco will be much worse, particularly during daytime M-F rush hour. If you're on a night flight or you're coming during the weekend, I'd fly into SFO. Otherwise, I'd use Sacramento. Others Sacramento. Even though it's 100 miles vs. 60, it's way less traffic.
