What is the weather like in California in October? |
Travel Info My boyfriend lives in northern California and I'm going to visit him in October. Does anyone know what the weather will be like then? I have no idea what to pack. Travel Tips Depending on teh city, it's usually crisp, windy and comfortably cold. Nice time to rake leaves or just be outside, long as it's not on a windy day. YOu can put on a jacket and take a walk. In various cities of Northern California, October is when the Fall weather really begins. It's so refreshing! I can hardly wait. Others Warm days and chilly nights 65-75 in the days, 60-50 evenings. Dress in layers. it should be gorgeous! Usually the weather starts to get wet & cool at end of Oct. Unless you are going to posh events, we are very casual, here. Layers work well. It may be cool in the am, warm mid-day & cool in the evening. Enjoy! northern Calif. can be very windy, it really depends what city you're going to. but if i were you, i would pack for warm weather in daytime, and then maybe take along a sweater that you can put on over, as it starts to get colder. i would layer clothes, so that way you're prepared for both. also again.it depends where you're going but it can also rain. maybe before you leave, check out the forecast on your computer, that way you can be a little more prepared. northern Calif. is very beautiful, and hope you enjoy yourself while you are there. the wine country is especially beautiful,as is fisherman's wharf. they have the best fresh baked french bread i've lived in norhtern calif for a few years, san leandro to be exact. lots to see and do. It depends where you are going, but has you are in the Sacramento section I would say it is normally mild with cool nights. Fall is probably the nicest time of the year in Sacramento area. But, as we all know normal isn't always consistent. It could rain but you could check the weather before you leave. Umbrellas are plentiful out here and cheap. You won't need a heavy coat but a sweater for the evenings might be needed. If we have an extended Indian summer you might be able to where shorts during the day. If not Capri's or light weight slacks and short sleeve blouses or tops. If you are going to travel to the San Francisco it is mild with cool nights also it is there best time of the year as there is little to no fog. A trip to Lake Tahoe or Reno you will find it a bit cool but not much different except the nights will be cooler then California. Being the situation with the traveling if you are flying I would highly suggest you pack light not so much in type of clothes but what you bring. Have a great time |
