Im interested in moving to Nevada from Sacramento CA? |
Travel Info Can anyone who lives in Nevada give me any information that would be helpfull with any information on Nevada, Im a Lab assistant and I currently work for kaiser. I have teenage kids and want to relocate to Nevada can you tell me anything you think may be of help. Thank you so much in advance for your time. Travel Tips By nevada you mean Las Vegas? Living is pretty cheap, but getting a job is hard if you didn't go to college. Reno and CArson city are good too, maybe even better, but they are small cities, not much to do..(besides gamble at reno.) Maybe you should move to Las Vegas, but look for a job there before you actually move there. Source(s): Lived in Las Vegas..Btw, don't buy from KB homes if you move to Las Vegas. Reason = They are just plain old MEAN. Other Travel Tips depends on where in nevada you want to move to you can easily get a job in reno or carson city id recommend moving to douglas county, which is south of carson city, its a lot nicer in terms of size and within 10-30 minutes of carson city id look over the jobs in washoe, carson, lyon, & douglas counties and find a home close to that job live there I live in the Spanish Springs area and have raised my daughter here. This area is growing very fast, but overall it is very nice. Another popular area is south Reno, but it can be spendy. If you are willing to commute, you could live in the North Valleys (Stead, Lemon Valley, Red Rock etc) and commute to Reno. You can check out the schools at http://www.washoe.k12.nv.us/ Some schools are better than others (just like anywhere). The major hospitals are Renown (formally Washoe Medical), St. Mary's and Northern Nevada Hospital. There are various labs around, but I am not really familiar with them. Personally, I would recommend the move. You would be paying a lot less in taxes and hopefully have less traffic. In the past, Reno was criticized for not having much for kids to do. I believe that is changing with new malls, theaters etc. Lots of companies are looking to move to Nevada due to the tax advantages. Check out www.edawn.org. Good luck |
