Any advice about Antelope, CA? |
Travel Info I've read past posts and when talking about great places to live, Antelope has only come up a couple of times. We're looking for a city in CA that is affordable, peaceful, great schools, and very important -- ethnic diversity -- after all, that's why we're moving from our all-white suburb in CO and don't want to move into another one, like Roseville and some others in the Sac area seem to be. Antelope seems like it might be the right place for us, but anyone have input about it -- good, bad, all welcome. Thanks! Travel Tips i live in antelope and it is great all the schools here are awesome and it is a very diverse city. so if you have kids that are in elementary school, then send them to either olive grove elementary school, or dry creek elementary school. if they are in middle school then go to antelope crossing middle school. and if they are in 7th grade and is going to go to antelope crossing then he/she will be the first freshmans for the new high school they are building and if not then i would prefer woodcreek or oakmont high school which are both in roseville but u dont have to live in roseville to go to either of those schools. Others All I can say about Antelope it does have ethnic diversity and all what goes along with it. High crime, gangs, drugs and school that don't work. Your kids get to know what colors not to wear. But, it is affordable lots of homes for sale by the American white suburbanites fleeing the area. Most have two or three cars on their front lawn and most of the houses adorn lot of bars on the window. A lot your neighbor don't speak your language but hand signs still will get your point across when half of their garbage is on you front lawn. After a while you will be able to tell whose garbage it it by ethnic smell. Good thing you don't need to lock your cars or home. Nothing works so you save on keys locks and alarms You will really enjoy the evenings with the nightly police helicopters flying over head and the screaming of sirens. Also, what ever you folks are smoking now there is plenty more here. I think you and your family will fit in real well and love it. Antelope is not a place I would want to live. Crime is on the rise and there is a gang problem. I am not sure what you consider affordable, but houses there are around the $400,000. I don't know what weather you are used to, but be aware that the summers in the Sacramento area are filled with 100+ degrees days and the smog is unbelievable. I have never lived somewhere that had so many "bad air quality" days where they recommend you stay in if you can and don't let your kids play outside. I would recommend looking at some other areas away from Sacramento. Kit hit the nail on the head. The only thing I can add is you'd feel right at home as in Haiti. |
