Why are gas prices so high? |
Travel Info Why are gas prices so high? Travel Tips Because the oil companies need to make more billions. And so they can payoff George W Bush. I think its time to take gas prices out of the speculative markets and make it managed through government control. Even though I hate government control! We need this because with our current dependence on oil, its become as necessary as a utility, just like electricity. Also, we need much more funding on alternative fuel research, subsidies so lower income folk can buy cars like the Prius. Others holiday weekend, not ewnough areas to get gas from supply and demand. Inflation...the war.....less oil production...to make the rich richer. its law of demand and supply...less supply but more demand = high price... Because you are ugly!!!!! Contrary to what all the "experts" here, who only want to point fingers and blame somebody, think, this is really due to a very complicated set of economic, regulatory, and other factors beyond any one person's control. I mean, if it were easy to solve and one person could solve it, wouldn't he have an economic incentive to solve it? There is a guy in Waco Texas who is a Phd named Ray Perryman, who did what I thought was an excellent write-up on this in the May 2006 edition of his newsletter, called "The Perryman Report." I suspect if you did an Internet search, you could probably find an excerpt of it or, if you are really interested, find a way to order this specific copy of his newsletter. |
