What do you think should be done about the mulch fire in Helotes? |
Travel Info I live close by and it really is a nasty smell and affects my smoke allergy, can't the city of Helotes sue him, can I? Travel Tips I live out by 1604 near 90, and it has begun to really bother us. We have smelled it intermittently over the past week or so, but this weekend, once they began actively fighting it, we can barely even open our doors. My daughter's asthma, which hasn't affected her in months, is kicking in again, my eyes are watering, and we are all walking around congested and sniffling. I don't know how Helotes residents will ever get the smell out of their homes. There seems to be quite a bit of debate over who is responsible for the pile, but someone needs to pay some sort of restitution to those residents immediately impacted by the fire. Those of us on outlying areas probably don't stand much of a chance, but the local residents definately should be compensated. Others I am with you - I am not far from Helotes and the smell and smoke are not good. The state has just brought in a California company to put out the fire , so hopefully it will not be long now. I think the city/state may be suing the owner, as they have to pay this company a bazillion dollars. We live close to the rim by the new Best Buy, and we can smell the smoke everyday. If I had property in Helotes, and was directly affected like it seems you are, I would definately take that rich company to court. You probably would need evidence that you were directly AFFECTED BY THE SMOKE so close to your house. Didn't you say something about smoke allergies? I live on the southside of San Antonio and we smell it even from here. My husband has asthma and he works on the northside. That fire is just killing him. If it had been up to me, I would have put that fire out as soon as it was noticed. These idiots let it go too far. If they try to put out now, can you imagine all the ash that will fly over Helotes and every town and city around it. Somebody really fouled this one up and I hope that he gets sued for all his marbles. Put it out. |
