Closest hotels to St. Mary's Univ-S.A. TX? |
Travel Info Need an affordable, clean, safe hotel near St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX Travel Tips Clean and safe around St Marys?!?!....LOL...I would be very careful about getting any hotel in the neighboring immediately surrounding the area of St Mary's. Very, very run down especially to the South and West of campus. You will need mace at the very least! Hahaha..well I don't know. I went to high school in the area so I don't think it's THAT bad but just use common sense. I would recommend staying at any of the hotels further out on Loop 410 West between Military and Bandera and then drive down Culebra to the campus. FREE Continental Breakfast... Hotel Details | See Map $50.00 $63.00 St. Mary's is on the near west side of San Antonio. Actually it's about a mile from where I'm sitting (and I have a couple of degrees from there.) There aren't many hotels/motels in the immediate area. There are a few, independent motels along Culebra and Bandera Road but I wouldn't recommend any of them. It really depends upon whether or not you have a car and if you are planning on doing something else while you are here. The campus is about half-way between downtown and Loop 410. So, you could either stay at one of the downtown hotels or one around the Culebra and Loop 410 intersection. There is a La Quinta at Culebra and 410 as well as several other chain outlets. Those will be about 3 or 4 miles from the campus. The downtown locations are about the same distance but tend to me more expensive. Unfortunately I can't agree with the I-35 recommendation as it is not very close. Finally there is an Amerisuites at Crossroads Mall which is at the interchange of Loop 410 and IH-10. It might be a good place and you can get to the campus by traveling westbound on Hillcrest. Good luck. If you use any of the mapping services, get directions to either the intersection of Camino Santa Maria and Cincinnati Street (the main showplace entrance) or 36th Street and Culebra (the main parking area.) http://www.lq.com/lq/properties/property... i think theres a days inn not to far from there. but dont goto that ranch motel down by the kiddie park. i fixed three showers there and the place is horible |
