Travel Info What are some fun things to do on a weekend trip to San Antonio? Travel Tips It really depends on the age group The Riverwalk is perfect for all ages. It has some of the best food in San Antonio, even if it is a bit pricey (by pricey I mean tourist prices. Not cheap, but not overly expensive). It's a really beautiful place If you're going with family, Sea World and Fiesta Texas are fun amusement parks. Or if you're looking for more of an adult getaway, there's a lot of clubs and bars that one will find. Namely: Grand Central Station, and The Bonham (note: the bonham is a gay club, but it has many heterosexual patrons). The Comedy Club downtown is also a great little niche in San Antonio life. If you're not looking for the general "touristy" things, try some offbeat restaurants. "The Silos" on Broadway is an EXCELENT restaurant and nightclub that one would normally pass up. It's not very asthetically pleasing on the outside but it is truely one of the most beautiful restaurants I've been to. It's a bit expensive but by far worth it. They're menu includes beef, lamb, chicken, sea food, salads and a wide variety of wines. Catch: Gotta be 18, regardless if you're there for the food or for the music. If by chance you're there on the first weekend of the month, there's a huge thing downtown called "First Friday" by the Blue Star art gallery. It spans for a few blocks. It's local artists, musicians and vendors showing and selling their work. Great atmosphere, never a bore and always something new. San Antonio's a great place. You'll find plenty of things. There's the Alamo, the Ripley's Believe it or Not! Museum. There's the wax museum, some wildlife museum, a zoo. Oh the RIVERWALK is the best! Ton's of restraunts and even a boat ride. plus the riverside mall. Hoped I helped have fun!!! experience oh girl! there is soooo much to do!! there's the riverwalk w/ the mall and a comedy club all in one! haha...and theres the magic time machine that u can go eat! its tons of fun!! and the zoo is fantastic! i plan on going there for my bday! :-) ha...im 19 and i still loooove the zoo!! and theres all sorts of movie theaters! go visit the alamo!! thats always cool! and also the imax! have a great stay in san antonio!! its a beautiful and marvelous city!! i absolutely loooove it! Riverwalk! If you're here when they're open don't forget Six Flags and Sea World. On the north side you'll find a great water park, voted best in the country, http://www.schlitterbahn.com/nb/.... You could easily spend a full day (or More) at each one of these places. Check out the Mission Trail of which the Alamo is just one of the missions to check out here in town. Then there's the Riverwalk of course and great food all over town. |
