I plan on moving to san antonio to escape the boredom of Des Moines, IA which part of town should I avoid living in?

Most of the area from NE to NW along 1604 is pretty nice. Some of the homes are pricey, but not all. There are a lot of nice apartments in that area also, if you don't want to buy right away.

avoid the south side like the plague. The nicer parts of San Antonio is N, NC and NE.
Do not live on the south side, or the northeast side. Try to stay on the northwest side or at least the north central areas. There is a lot of crime in SA be very careful wherever you go. My husband and I have lived here for a while now and can't wait to move.
the southside is awful, the eastside also, the westside is ok-ish... the northside is where you might want to move to... but it wont come cheap! i live near downtown and its ok but we would really like to move to the country or northside... those are good...
