Dog Friendly Places in San Antonio-Suggestions???

Travel Info
I have Yorkies and I'm really looking for more dog-friendly places that we can go together. They travel with our family and love to be out, but I'm finding that SA just isn't as hip to dogs and owners as I'd like.

Anyone know of places that welcome dogs?

Travel Tips
Leashed Dogs are allowed on the riverwalk. My dog, husband and I even enjoyed a cocktail at a bar on the riverwalk with our dog.
There are now two dog parks. One is on Pearsall Road and another one is in McAllister Park. The best way to get to the dog park in McAllister is to use the Sports Field entrance on Star Crest road. You can't see the park from the road but park in the very first parking lot on your left.
I heard that there is a fundraiser event in which you take your dog to a restuarant but I don't know when or where.
There are also ALOT of doggie day cares. I use Pawderosa and my dog loves to go and play with other dogs.

Also, you can take your dog to see the San Antonio Missions...if your into that.
There is also a Wildlife Ranch and dogs are allowed. They say pets are not reccomended but are allowed. The reason is your not allowed to roll down your window to feed the animals.
I included a link to other San Antonio attractions some of the other stuff may allow dogs. For instance, I would call the Enchanted Springs Ranch. Source(s): www.nps.gov/saan (San Antonio Missions Historical Park)

Other Travel Tips
well, if you would like to talk them on an intresting walk, there is olmos park which has lovely trees and is very relaxing
San Antonio actually has a doggie park!! I dont remember exactly where its at but it shouldnt be too hard to find if you look it up. The park is fenced up so the dogs wont run off or anything and they even have a seperate area for the poopie. Hope you find it and have fun!!
Found it!!! It is located at 13102 Jones- Maltsberger by the airport and there is also another at 4700 Old Pearsall Rd.
There is Pearsall Park on the Southside and officially on March 31 McAllister Park will also have a dog park. Personally, my preference will be McAllister.

All the park rules are listed below:
