Hi I'm a single mom looking to relocate to another state what would be some helpful tips or steps to take before I move. Thanks in advance for any advice.

call ahead and ask about the state or town what it has to offer
Before you move, you should definitely have a job lined up. If you're looking for a job out of state, I've found it's easier to put you're already living out there, then when they call for an interview, have a trip lined up already to tackle a few interviews at once. If not, make sure you have at least a few months' worth of expenses in the bank before you go.

You'll want to make at LEAST one trip out there to check out neighborhoods, schools, day cares etc. Try and research the areas you're looking at before you go, or ask any friends who live around what they recommend.
