Travel Info Can anyone share homeowners insurance rates, are they high,do you have to carry flood ins. is car ins. high? Travel Tips You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than 陆 after I did. Go to: http://www.insureme.com/?refby=616161... Take care, Casey Others I live outside the city, but I cannot recall what my rates are for insurance. As far as flood insurance goes, it's up to you. You can look at the FEMA floodplain maps and see if you think you need it. Remember, some mortgage companies will require you to have flood insurance on the house if you live in a flood prone area. As far as car insurance goes, I have myself covered pretty well, as the majority of people in San Antonio have little to no insurance. There are TONS of illegals in SA that have no insurance and drive like crap, therefore I have insurance that covers me in case of uninsured drivers. Homeowners and flood insurance are seperate. You should always have h/o insurance. Flood insurance is not necessary UNLESS you are in a low lying area. If you are in a low lying area, I'd highly suggest flood insurance. It floods real bad here every few years, and sure enough you'll see a story about a whole house getting washed away and of course, the family doesn't have insurance. As far as car insurance, it is pretty high. I've lived in the midwest and a other places in between, and San Antonio is by far the highest in insurance rates. You should definitely get full coverage if your car is worth anything over a $2500 or so. Because of the high amount of people who drive even though they aren't insured (it's right around 50% in San Antonio), get uninsured motorists, that way you're covered if you get hit by someone without insurance. Experience and through working at a car rental agency. And having lots of insurance adjusters as friends. Homeowners insurance is not so bad unless you live in a high flood area and why would you do that? Car insurance is ridiculous, but the good news is that if you buy car insurance and don't live in San Antonio, it's lower. Seriously. I would suggest living outside San Antonio, it's cheaper! |
