I guess it depends on the age of the people going and what their interests are. I mean, if you are on vacation to SA and you're from far away, then sure make sure you go see it. It has some history to it, obviously, but if you're not into old museum type stuff, then skip it. Personally, I've been several times, and it's pretty boring to me.

The Alamo is AMAZING! Take lots of pics! San Antonio is one of my most favorite cities in Texas LOTS of culture. Stay there for at least a weekend to soak in the culture.

It is a great place to stop and soak in some history! There are other things to do around the Alamo as well, including the Ripley's believe it or not museum, market square, and the riverwalk.

If you're into history, there are also Mission tours (the Alamo wasn't the only mission in San Antonio, just the most famous...) that you can take to visit the other various missions around the Alamo.

Alamo and the whole area is very nice new brunfels and old German towns they dance on the streets. have a good time..
