Nice parts of San antonio?

I'm moving to san antonio in about a 1 in a half years hopefully. and was looking at apartments and found ones that looked great and read some reviews and was shocked by some that said they were bad cause the neighborhood/crime.
I don't know much about the areas of SA but what are the best parts of san antonio that is nice and dosn't have alot of crime....i know most all cities have some....but some reviews got me a little nervous.
So what are your opinions on the best parts of San Antonio? Thanks.

Every big city has crime...you just have to stay away from those areas.....Northeast is a good place....Universal City...Selma...Converse.......... AFB is out in those areas.....the north side is growing...Stone Oak area....
by the time you move here there will new apartments....they are going up all over town.....this town is growing like crazy
New shopping malls off of 1604 close to Feista Texas and Sea World.......

San Antonio is not that bad. (I live here) Although its not the best city in the whole but its a good city. NorthWest San Antonio is the best part of town, lowest crime (not that theres a whole lot of it) and its the nicest, though it is not the cheapest part of town because it is nicer than the rest of SA. Theres lots of nice shopping (we have a new outlet mall that is huge) , We have Fiesta Texas Six Flags (Amusement Park), Sea World, Lots of resturaunts and things like that. Northwest San Antonio is nice. You might want to come here and look around ofr yourself and see what you like and what fits your budget. Also, don't be scared of things you hear about crime and things like that, all cities have it but, its not as horrible as you think. Its a nice and safe place in the Northwest. GOOD LUCK!!

Actually the Northwest doesnt have the least crime in the city but it is a nice part of town to live in. When KENS5 came out with the top ten crime filled places in SA the Ingram area was one of the worst. I myself live in Universal City which is in the Northeast part of town. It's very safe here and it's close to Randolph if your in the military. If I had a choice I would move out to Cibolo where theres more space. San Antonio is getting pretty big.
Personally, I'd rethink the idea of moving to SA. If my entire family didn't live in the SA area, I'd be gone from this area in a heartbeat. If you can, stay out of the SA city limits and you'll be ok.
