Where should I stay in San Antonio during the Fiesta? |
Travel Info Where should I stay in San Antonio during the Fiesta? Travel Tips Downtown is the place to be during Fiesta. It will be expensive and you might not even find a place so close to the event but it would save you a huge hassle . Between the time you'll spend in your car navigating traffic and the price you'll pay for parking if you find some it would be well worth it. I work downtown and I have free parking but I have to leave an hour early just to get here on time. Bummer. Not fun at all. I'm probably the only person in San Antonio that dreads Fiesta. One bit of advice: Bring your sneakers or walking shoes. Don't wear sandals because the ground in nasty and dirty. And most likely it will be wet from all the concessions. Sun block is a good idea too. Others Go try out hotwire.com. I get awesome deals there all the time. One time when I stayed in San Antonio I stayed at a 3 star downtown for $50/night. They only use good hotels so dont be worried about not knowing the name of the hotel before you buy. You pick the area though. I have never stayed at a bad hotel in the 3 years I have been using them for every trip. La Mansion del Rio on the Riverwalk...pricey but worth it. As close to downtown as you can afford. If you can afford being on the riverwalk that would be the best. Marriott has a nice hotel there. I will honestly tell you.. There are just too many people at Fiesta...Its so crowded, and you cant even move....Along the river walk, its a nightmare..People are drinking, the pathway is narrow, the restaurants are full, and sometimes people occasionally fall in...Its really pretty at night but if the crowds were less it might be worth it...save your money and go when the crowds are at a minimum.... |
