How did the battle of the alamo lead to texas gaining independence?

The Alamo provided a stumbling block, it stood in the way of General Santa Anna, doing so provided much needed time for Sam Houston to not only gather the troops but allowed them to to meet the enemy on more even ground. Additional General Santa Anna went on to become the President of Mexico, Texas became a free independent sovereign nation. The United States decided that they wanted Texas to become a State in the 1860s. No shots were fired but the documents making Texas a state were never ratified. The United States would like to take the credit for Texas winning it's freedom but had nothing to do with it.

It rallied the various peoples in Texas and America at that time, bringing them together in an effort to trounce the Mexicans and pay them back for the Alamo (when actually the Mexicans hadn't done as much wrong as the Yankees) and once everyone was on the same page, they swept out all the Mexicans and declared it an American state.
By abandoning Jim Bowie at the Alamo, Sam Huston ensured his control of the new Texas.
It was a Pyhrrric victory for Mexico. When news of the slaughter reached the Texans, it provided a catalyst and a rallying cry at the Battle of San Jacinto a little over a month later. The Texans ran roughshod over the Mexicans yelling, "Remember the Alamo" and "Remember Goliad" (Goliad was another massacre of Texans by Mexico). What did many Mexican soldiers reply? "Me no Alamo, me no Goliad" (I had nothing to do with the Alamo or Goliad). They knew they were in trouble. The Texans killed quite a number of Mexicans and captured the President Santa Anna. Texas lost fewer than 90 men and the entire battle lasted less than 18 minutes. It is ranked as one of the most important battles in world history.
With the help of Mexicans who remained wanna be defenders of the Alamo that got slaughtered as well. Which in my opinion is the reason that to this day Mexicans in general have hiddened resentments against certain kiss *** Mexicans! And for what. Just to be disrespected by Americans these days?
