San Antonio? Why, you can shop for big ugly hats, big ugly boots, big ugly belt buckles, big ugly pickup trucks, and big ugly people.
Also, you can dip Skoal, and spit.
The Alamo, Seaworld, SixFlags Fiesta texas
nothing
There used to be a funky new age bookstore on the outskirts of town (by a mall, I forget the name of it) and they have psychics who give readings there.

Visit the Alamo (uh, yawn) and also, there is a water park about an hour or so out of town. Movie theatres. Not much else really but it's a nice little "suburban" city, if you know what I mean.
Travel out of SA and see the Hill Country... Bandera ( dude ranches, 11th. Street Bar, etc...Dixie Dude Ranch is the best...my hubby works there...name is Ringo), Kerrville, Boerne, Vanderpool, Medina...some of the prettiest places you will ever see in Texas..... Check the internet for maps, etc. Have fun!!! Also in SA visit the Buckhorn Museum awesome.....
Depends on what kind of person you are.
The museums aren't like the Guggenheim in NY or anything, but, they're ok.
There are great restaurants all around town that are locally owned and MUCH better than the ones on the riverwalk.
Go to Southtown...just south of downtown (duh)...going towards the Alamodome area. There are some pretty decent restaurants like Rosario's (where, supposedly, Martha Stewart ate and said it was great) and China Latina which has a mixture of foods. There are also great bars in that area that have great live salsa music on the weekends like Azuca.

There's the new shopping mall La Cantera on the far NW side of town. Take IH10 all the way north until you get close to Loop 1604 and then look for the exit signs. They have all the higher end shops there. Pretty decent.

SA actually has a ghost walk, if you're into that...I believe downtown. Ask the tourist places downtown, they should know.
The Alamo bites, though...and pretty much, the whole of the Riverwalk. Everything is too expensive right in the heart of downtown. Your best bet is to leave the beaten path and head out of the city.
NW and North sides are your best bet if you are worried about running into crazy natives, but the south side and the immediate west side (out of downtown) have SO much more character and flavor and, believe me, it's not scary to wander out.
Head directly down Commerce street (right in front of the Rivercenter mall downtown)-- it's a one way street and it will take you out of downtown and into the first bit of the west side of town. There you can find a great little restaurant that has great fried chicken, mexican food and other things for the greatest prices. The place has been there for over 50 years.
It's called the Malt House. Take Commerce to Zarzamora and take a left. You'll see it once you turn (on your right).

The city's not that bad. It's not like a London or Paris, but it has its own flavor and there are lots of small things to make up for the lack of the bigger things.
