Any recommended stops while driving from Houston to San Antonio? |
Travel Info Its a few hours of driving. Are they any nice places or stops on the middle of the road to enjoy or visit? Travel Tips I know that this isn't what you had in mind with your question, but I am going to tell you anyways. The old expression one man's trash another man's riches, You will find in most if not all of the towns between here (San Antonio) and Houston something charming, There are many good family style eateries, and every place has a point of interest. If you are going to make that trip in the very near future I would make the suggestion that you bring along a camera, You will find that the wild flowers just absolutely beautiful. Now for the answer that you weren't expecting to get. I have driven over the vast majority of the United States, and have never seen on a consistent basis anything like our rest stops. There are 4 or 5 of them between here and Houston. They are super clean and comfortable. Further more they are spaced very well, which we the over 60 crowd really appreciate, there is plenty of space to walk your dog. Have a safe trip. Franks Restaurant in Schulenburg is a good place to eat. Schulenburg also has a very pretty church and I think they call it "The Painted Church". Have a safe trip A S.A. resident whose made that L O N G trip. Going to Houston on 6-23. |
