Travel Info WHAT ARE SOME PLACES TO GO IN SAN ANTONIO FOR A FAMILY FUN event. we are visiting here at the end of june for 7 nights. we already plan to go to six flags, sea world and visit schlitterbahn. i have 3 children so i need some entertainment for some of the other nights. Travel Tips The San Antonio Zoo near Brackenbrige Park. The kiddos go crazy--I was just there last week, the place has grown. a must for the kiddos Others The river walk is great. The slow boat ride, and then dinner at a wayside resturaunt. Also, the Alamo. If your kids are big enough there is a place near the river walk which has local artists, which is interesting. The Alamo is a good place to go also there is a Ripley's Belive it or not and Wax museam not to far from the Alamo. The river walk is great! There is always dinner on the boat. You could try some cheap museums for example: Witte Museum- The only spot in town that houses a life-size dinosaur; see it for free Tuesdays from 3pm to 8pm when there is no admission fee. Riverwalk San Antonio- It doesn't cost a thing to stroll along the picturesque riverside. Market Square- Visit this lively market during a festival and catch free mariachi music, dances and more. Alamo Historic Site- Relax in the gardens, visit the museum and pay homage to this Texas landmark--for free. McNay Art Museum- Pack a picnic and soak up the scenery, inside and out, without spending a cent. Good Luck Choosing! Have Fun! You haven't said how old these children are. One could answer one way and yet it might be different for another. One place that you didn't mention is the zoo we really have a nice zoo and it is very family friendly. We also have Museums. One thing comes to my mind. You said that you were going to come at the end of June. Does that mean that you will be here over the fourth of July? Lackland Air Force base has a display that will knock your socks and there usually are other activities going on, on the base on th fourth. Available to you and your family is a ride into the surrounding area, Fredricksberg, Bandera both are fun places to visit. They are both right out of the old west. Fredricksberg has a old Germany community and they have a store that is decorated for Christmas year round. The leather shops and antique shops in both places are hard to beat. The biggest thing is to have fun while you are here. |
