What's San Antonio's winters like? |
Travel Info What's San Antonio's winters like? Travel Tips WONDERFUL. The winter weather is one of the reasons why I am not moving back to NY. It is very mild and nice you can wear Tshirts and flip flops all year long . Others Very mild winters mostly 40's to 50's lived there Delightful! Warm in the daytime, cool at night, sometimes downright chilly but briefly so. Flowers bloom in March. Let me put it this way - I had Final Exams cancelled one year because of Frost. speaking as northerner who's never been: I imagine winters there are virtually non-existent I was born and raised in SA. Most people wouldn't describe it as "winter" by the majority of the country's definition. Very mild. Only drops below 32* F a few times. If you are from the NE, you'll think it's springtime. I was raised in New England, where we had a lot of cold and snow. I have lived in San Antonio for 35 years and I will tell you that about every four years. We will have some nasty weather. I retired from the Air Force in the beginning of 1985 and we had a 15 inch snow fall in my driveway. I hadn't seen anything like it before and haven't since. most winters are reasonably mild. I wear shorts 365 days of the year. There are time when we don't get below 32 degrees and it will hold there for a few days but our winter lasts less than a month. I some times wish that we had just a little bit more cold weather, I own a small ranch out in the country and like to hunt deer out there. The colder the better. The way that it is three out of four years is at night upper twenty's not very often but thirty's is common, how ever during the day it will warm up to the mid upper forty;s and maybe even into the fifty's, This beats the Dickens out of snow and so cold that you can't even go out side. |
