How is San Antonio? |
Travel Info It has been far to long since I lived there, and my wife and I are planning on returning home to TX. So can anyone tell me about rent, job market, etc. I would really appreciate it. Travel Tips It is nice, alittle hot in the summer but very nice and just growing especially to the west. And as far as renting, your better off buying a house, rent is almost the same. Depending on what loan/program you get, your payments for a $100,000 house could be as little as $469/month (using the community commitment program) - $1000/month. (Okay, I'm winging it and need caffeine!) I love San Antonio. My husband and I have lived there our entire lives and have recently moved to San Jose because of a big promotion. I wish I could go back. Rent is cheap. We were renting a 2 bedroom townhome for $680 month. Now we pay more than double. There's especially a lot of jobs because of the Toyota plant!! San Antonio is crowded more than ever. Traffic is horrible and 75% of the drivers still haven't figured out how to drive. Other than that, life is cheap and the people are nice. They are building new houses all the time so there plenty of apartments/houses to choose from and rent is much cheaper than the national average. Since the city is growing in unbelievable rate, I would think the job market is also doing good. In my opinion, it is the best city in the US and there is no other place I'd rather be. There are so many things to do in San Antonio and there is plenty of cultural diversity which makes it very unique and interesting. |
