What is the best way? |
Travel Info I AM TRYING TO DRIVE FROM SAN ANTONIO TO PORT O'CONNOR. GOOGLE SAYS TO TAKE 181 TO 239. BUT WHEN I LOOK ON THE MAP IT SEEMS QUICKER TO GO THROUGH VICTORIA. ANYONE HAVE A SUGGESTION? Travel Tips I live in Calhoun County (where Port O'Connor is) and get to San Antonio frequently. My favorite route is US 87 all the way from the SE side of SA to Port Lavaca and then on down to PO'C from there. My fastest route is I-10E to US183 down to Cuero and then US 87 through Victoria to Port Lavaca and then down to PO'C. Either way it's about 3 hours. Others Yahoo Maps says it's faster to go through Victoria. http://maps.yahoo.com I always go through Victoria . It is quicker and I love Victoria so I just need an excuse to drive by Victoria. It will alsosave you 30-40 min Lots of times when you ask for directions they come back with directions that aren't always the most direct because they also consider traffic some times, but I like the other would go through Victoria. When I say they consider traffic it is kind of like driving through Austin at rush hour, I don't want to think about it, it is a nightmare. But if you take Barnett Road and come around The outer part of Austin even though it is further it is much faster coming to San Antonio. This may be the case with sending you around Victoria. Other considerations might be road construction. |
