I'm 15 and I want to visit my sister in San Antonio. I don't know the rules for flying at my age. Help?! |
Travel Info I'm 15 I havn't really flown a lot anywhere. Any advice would be great. I have my parents permission and the money everything is set I just don't know the rules about flying at my age. Thanks. Travel Tips I work at an airport and the age for unaccompanied minors is 14. You are old enough to fly alone with no restrictions. Be sure you don't take any liquid, gels, or aerosols on your carry on that is over 3 ounces. Get to the airport 2 hours prior to takeoff. Have at least one picture ID with you. Tag ALL your luggage. Have a great trip and you'll do just fine. Others That's all you need. You will need your parent's permission to board the plane. I am assuming you are flying domestically within the US. If you go Southwest airlines, or other airline, check their specific rules for minors flying. Each has a certain age for pre-boarding, and escorted from the plane to the gate to be met by a parent or guardian. Just buy a ticket and pack your bags and fly. you need no gaurdian or anything and your old enough to sit by an exit row so there shouldn't be any complications other than I.D. I think that is for perosns over 18 only. Me You would have to fly as an unaccompanied minor. So there will have to be an adult at the airport to pick you up. Go on the airline's web site and check it out. If your parents already gave you permission then they should be the ones checking it out for your own safety. You can fly alone. You have to have a parent with ID and birth cert in hand take you to the airport and an adult on the other end picking you up. It is prearranged. At least that is how they did it when I was a teenager. |
