The Hard Rock Cafe or the Rain Forest Cafe. Any authentic, family-owned Mexican restaurant is probably very good too. Good Luck and enjoy your vacation! There are two great places in San Antonio for Mexican food. Pico De Gallo or La Fogata. You gotta try one of them, you won't be disappointed. i've been to both several times. they're awesome. mi tierra's - a place the locals go to all the time, plus it is right down town in the market square. Also, lots of great places along broadway. La Paloma on broadway is excellent. Tong's Thai on Austin Hwy is great food. Magnolia house pancakes along 281. Check out the guenther house for breakfast or lunch and blue star is a microbrewery across the street from guenther (also an arts complex). I don't really know about the restaurants in Abilene, but I do know of a few good ones in San Antonio. Dick's Last Resort is located on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. They have live bands there every night and every time I go there I have a lot of fun. The only thing that you may not like about the place is that it is a themed restaurant and their theme is to be kinda rude. They tend to be a lot nicer to people with children and older people. The "Chicky Fried Chicky" is really good and so it their queso dip which is made with tequila. Rain Forest Cafe is another good restaurant, just don't order the pizza because it is terrible! I personally like their crab cakes. Most of the food there is a little pricey, so be prepared to spend about $20 per person. The person before me recommended Mi Tirras, I have eaten there and I personally think that their food is nasty. Either you love it or you hate it and 4 out of 5 of the people that I know that have eaten there hate it. |
