Where to go saturday night in San Antonio? |
Travel Info I will be there this weekend for a wedding and have saturday night free. Any suggestions? Travel Tips The closest San Antonio comes to having a club district is the stretch of North St. Mary's between Josephine and Magnolia -- just north of downtown and south of Brackenridge Park -- known as the Strip. This area was hotter about 15 years ago, but it still draws a young crowd to its restaurants and lounges on the weekend. The River Walk clubs tend to be touristy, and many of them close early because of noise restrictions. This was from Frommers.com Others If you're going to be there on Saturday night, go down to the Riverwalk. There are dozens of bars, and something for most every taste. I prefer Durty Nelly's, which is a piano bar where the piano player sings dirty songs while you enjoy their selection of beers and throw peanut shells on the floor. I would take a trip about an hour and fifteen minutes north to Austin and hit 6th street. There is a ton of things to do there, live music, clubs, stores. It is a real experience. How much money do you have? The Riverwalk is a blast but a bit pricy. Hit upper Broadway near Loop 410. There are 4 bars there and you pay the valet parking for a good spot for $5. Or drive way down into the neighborhood and walk a lot. No covers. Lots of fun. One of the places is Reebars. I forget the other names, but they are fun places. Also depending on your sexual preference there is N. St. Mary's Street. You may find it entertaining regardless of your sexual preference. stroll along the river walk, check out polyesthers - it's a blast. Also the bonham exchange, if you are relatively open minded. |
