GLUTEN FREE restaurants in San Antonio??? |
Travel Info I am going there with two toddlers who cannot eat gluten, soy, or dairy and I am freaking out because our hotel (paid for by my husband's company) doesn't have a kitchen (just a fridge)...meaning I can't cook for my girls. It is to the Yahoo Group SIllyYaks and its an excelletn group for ppl with Celiac Disease. Many ppl on there also dont do soy or dairy. Another great group is 'foodallergynetwork'. PF Changs, Outback, Chilis, OCharley's all have GF menus either online or at the restaruant. Even fast food places have GF menus online but your selection is limited of course. Most hotels have a microwave and toaster downstairs. If this is the case,get some toaster bags (www.glutenfree.com or www.glutensolutions.com) and u can toast your GF bread in their toaster. If they have a microwave u can heat up your own GF foods in the lobby. Very few hotels dont even offer a lobby microwave! (if they dont then I'm running out of ideas!!) If u hav etime to do some research go to www.csaceliacs.org Click Local Support and look up Texas. See if there is a support group in San Antoinio. If there is, contact the leader of the group and they will probably be more than happy to help you find places to eat. Some nice store like Whole FOods or Wild Oats have little lunch counters and u might find GF foods there precooked. Whole FOods has a great selection of GF foods.
