Travel Tips I live here in Texas and there are a variety of them..Poisenous and non..There are 3 kinds corral snakes which are very poisenous, cotton mouth which hang around river banks and lakes, copperheads, rattlesnakes of differents sort, but you mainly have to be away from the city around canyons, lakes, rivers, forrests, to encounter any of these...Alot of different variety of rattlesnakes..Then there are the good snakes which dont carry venom..Chicken snakes, which kind of resemble a rattlesnake, then the regular garden snakes...Scorpians which isnt related to the snake carries a venemous bite..Ive seen 4 this month. They seem to come out after its rained. I havent seen any poisenous snakes yet, and I hope never... Others rattlesnakes gardner snakes thats it. Tomtay has good advise, but we do have a few really nice parks that you still have to watch out for the snakes. I live near the 280 acre park behind the airport called Mc Allister and there are plenty of snakes around. Just found one on my driveway the other day. |
