Travel Info I plan to take a vacation to San Antonio TX in August what are the must See's and must do's in that city? Travel Tips Yes a trip to San Antonio must include the famed Riverwalk..the boat tours are fun and the restraunts on the riverwalk are great...Visit the Alamo while you're there..fun and free. The zoo is really nice as well...there is also Sea World and Fiesta Texas, both fun! And yes it will be HOT! Others The Riverwalk is nice, with interesting shops, bars, and restaurants. (I'm blanking on the name of the large Mexican one, but it's very good. Save room for its pastries.) Try a boat ride up and down it. The zoo's decent, as I recall. All tourists are required to at least see the outside of The Alamo, too. Be prepared for some serious heat in August. Enjoy your trip! I live in Austin so I am not an expert on San Antonio but have been there several times....Obviously the Alamo and Riverwalk...but I'm sure you already knew that. Explore San Antonio's rich history on a full-day tour of the city's best sights. (This river tour is $4 extra and is not included in the overall cost of the Grand Tour.) Market Square/El Mercado 鈥?Enjoy an escorted tour of the market鈥攁 great place to browse through shops, visit art galleries, or simply people-watch. Mission Concepci贸n - Visit the oldest unrestored church in America, where you'll view original frescoes and tour the mission's many impressive rooms. Mission San Jos茅 - Tour the largest and most renowned mission in Texas, where you'll view exquisite church carvings and the famous Rose Window. During your tour, you will also drive by a number of other cultural sites, including San Fernando Cathedral, La Villita, Tower of the Americas, Hemisfair Park, and the Institute of Texan Cultures.
