Whats there to do in New Braunfels, TX? |
Travel Info I'm planning a sweet 16 trip with a group of my friends to new braunfels, besides of course the imfamous water park, Shlitterbahn, whats there to do for a decent price? Please and thanks :] Travel Tips New Braunfels draws a fair amount of tourism from across the state, particularly because of the cold-spring rivers that run through the city. Many generations of families still return during the summer to tube down the Guadalupe River or Comal River. New Braunfels is the site of one of the most famous water parks in the United States, the Schlitterbahn WaterPark Resort. The Comal River is the second shortest in the world(after the D River in Oregon), just 3.2 miles (5.2 km) long, before emptying into the Guadalupe River. It is devoted to recreation most of its length, being stocked with trout, and for tubing. The upper reaches of the Comal are lined with park areas. Others idk schlitterbarn Guadalupe River tubing. Well, if you live near new braunfels, i would reccomend you buy a season pass to got ot schlitterbahn. If u buy the season pass u can go everyday w/ u and u're buddys. You are in for a fun time!! Great place to go!! If you and your friends love German food, then there is a restaurant near Schlitterbahn which has an outdoor and indoor eating area! It is beautiful there and the food is wonderful! They hold dances outside and they are traditional German dancers! It is a wonderful time and awesome food! Great prices as well. Also, you have the caves there...i cannot remember the name but, it was formed from a fault. You are actually able to see the faultline. This is not expensive at all and it ends with a bang that I think you all will enjoy!! There are signs for this in the area and you can find them easily!! There are several other things to do as well! There's a lovely restaurant on the river which was once an old mill. It still has the old water wheel and the water is so clear that many dive there too! The restaurant sits above the falls and I think the name is Peppers! You can eat on the patio and watch the divers and swimmers below. Now, I know that you must be aware that the river which runs through there has a mind of its own. With all the rain we have had...please be careful as that river is going to be high and fast! In fact, I almost drown in a whirlpool there, years ago! It can be very frightening and deadly if you do not exercise alot of wisdom! Okay, I hope I have helped you out. There are many things you all can do there. Just have fun, be careful and watch that river before getting into it anywhere!!! I love New Braunfels and San Marcos Texas!!! I live here and the Gaudalupe river is open for tubing..Comal too..You can start in the town of historical Gruene and Rockin R tubing.. You can go all day, but wear your sunscreen. It was closed for two weeks, due to the high water, but now is open and is running at a clip..Watch the rapids..In Gruene there is an old mill that has been turned into a restaraunt, indoor and outdoor dining.Its called the Gristmill.Been to the natural bridge Cavens and didnt care for it much..Kinda boring, and closterphobic. And really humid down there inside.Just look at New Braunfels website and you will see other things todo..I hear in the future they are planning to build a Disneyland on the 46 between New Braunfels and Seguin. |
