Which of these certain high schools has the best band in San antonio? |
Travel Info Clark, Macarthur,Oconnor, Taft, or Churchill. again, i'm moving there and trying to pinpoint an area to settle with the kids being in band. Travel Tips I had one child in Clark Band and one in O'Connor band and was in both boosters. Clark a good school but is known as a Gucci school my son didn't have any problems but a girl might feel pressure in the fashion sense. Taft is a good school, with a good band www.traftraiderband.org Reagan is the new 90210 high school. www.sareaganband.com/band/ MacArthur is O'Connor and Clark's competition but has a smaller band www.homepage.mac.com O'Connor band rules.... it has the largest in the city. The school is also an agricultural school so more blue jeans and 4X4 trucks on campus www.pantherband.com I would recommend O'Connor but the area that you live in is important too and some schools are capped (full)so even if you live in the area your child may not be able to attend that school. . Others Clark all the way. It's smaller that O'Connor's, but it's headed up by some great teachers, and the comraderie is amazing. They always do very well in every competition they're in. Also, Clark in general is a great high school. I moved to the area just before my junior year, and there were a lot of people (the band, specifically, actually) who were more than willing to make friends with me. It's large, but not so large that you get lost in the mix. From what I here O'Connor and it has the biggest band too. I would have said Jay, Jay is in the top 20 high school in the United States, I don't live in that area any more but if I had a child going to school I would move back there, there is a whole lot of life after high school and college and they have a very good band also. I did have a child graduate from there that is now a MD and a professor in Medical school. He is boarded X2 and teaches Child Neurology and Neurophysiology MacArthur is number one. |
