You must be kidding.
You never want to be in a car in a flash flood area when it is raining or chance of rain.
I lived in the upper desert of California in a flash flood area.
I have seen flash floods and it is nothing to mess around with.
The water is upon you in an instant and it can take you and your car away (meanwhile the car can fill with water). It is amazing how many people think they can drive through a low area of water. Happens all the time, car floods, won't start, and you are swept away.
Stay home and watch some sports.

Actually there is no water on the roads on I-37 to Corpus. I just went there and back yesterday to get something from my dad's house. It was the same drive as always.
