Travel Info me and my mom are taking a girls vacations down there or a while. so where are some fun, chiill places we can go and have som drinks, eat, hang out!? nothing to loud or crazy. something laid back. any suggestion? oh and restutrants too! Travel Tips There is alot of parks, the Tanger Outlet Mall is right in San Marcos. You're right between Austin, TX, and San Antonio. You may run out of things to do in San Marcos/NewBraufels area. Since you're close to Austin, I'd definately go there. Stay away from San Antonio, there is nothing to do there, it's way to conservative. Also, in San Antonio you'll get so sick and tired of seing the Spurs everywhere...and I mean everywhere you look. That's all anyone knows in San Antonio. No one cares about anything else. Austin has some great restaurants, and a lot of laid back places. After you're done in San Marcos I'd head 30 miles up I-35 N to Austin. Others drift down the gudalupe river or the shlitterbaugh water park in new braunfels and they have lots of little antique shops, or shop at the outlets in san marcos have fun! :) You don't say how old your mother is and what she is capable of doing. The first answer has suggested a float down the river. I think that that would be a great day, but I am over 60 years old and I wouldn't consider doing it and my wife wouldn't either. There is a wonderful park there.Lano Park is a great place to spend a day. San Antonio isn't very far away from there and there are a lot of great places to go in San Antonio. I will name just a few but there are even more, Alamo, missions, River walk, River Walk Mall, zoo, Sea World, Six Flags, Ripley's Believe it or Not, The Wax museum, Botanical gardens, Texas cultural center. There are a number of good restraints on the River Walk. We also have a unique restraint, it is at the top of Tower of the Americas. This is a wonderful place to go as you can sit and eat a wonderful meal and as you eat the whole restraint keeps revolving and you can see all over the city. Speaking of food you can find food from every nation here, folks are friendly and this is a very safe place to visit. Welcome to South Texas and have a great stay. |
