How is san diego????? |
Travel Info I want to move to san diego and live there.I need a job,do I find it quickly and is that right, many things are expensive??? Travel Tips San Diego is definitely more expensive than most other places in the country. The city/county has some of the most expensive housing in the country. That said, there has been a bit of a dip in home prices, so if you have the money, now might be a good time to consider buying. There's also been a major restructuring of the downtown area, so if a condo is more your style, there are lots to choose from. Depending on what sort of job you're looking for, it might be easy or it could be very difficult. The biggest employers in San Diego right now are the military and the biotech industry (although the University of California, San Diego is the single largest employer in the city). A lot of people love the weather. As someone who was born and raised here, the year round sunshine can get kinda boring after awhile - but I've never met anyone who moved here who felt that way. San Diego is an extremely conservative, business-oriented city - so progressively minded people can find the political climate somewhat stifling. The TV/radio news and the local paper are banal at best and reactionary at worst. Geographically speaking, San Diego is great if you like to take day/weekend trips - the beaches are to the west, mountains are to the east, L.A. to the north and Mexico to the south. Others San Diego is beuatiful and wonderful and one of the most expensive places to live in the country. I would definitely recommend having a job, and possibly a place to live lined up. Rent here is very expensive, and it is a very tight and competitive housing market. But, In my opinion it is totally worth it, I moved here 15 years ago and knew right away that I was never going to leave. The weather alone keeps me here, it is 75 degrees and clear and sunny outside right now in January. |
