Travel Info Where is the worst traffic in the San Diego area? Travel Tips The 5 and 15 in the North County. I-5 south in the morning from Poinsettia all the way to the 5/805 merge is a parking lot every morning. The 15 SB from south of Escondidio all the way to Mira Mesa is usaully a parking lot too. And the evenings are just as bad. The 805 is usually pretty bad between UTC/Sorrento area and south bay. RP to Downtown shouldn't take you more than 20-30 minutes. Most traffic is headed towards Kearny Mesa, Sorrento Valley, and UTC. Traffic into Downtown is really light especially on 5. Others PCH on the weekends and 805/5 merge weekdays and weekends. Mission beach is worst residential. The highways is the 8 (east west) from Old Town to SDSU and after that the 5 and the 163 which run north and south tie. Look at a map of San Diego. You will see the 163 , the 5 and the 8. The 15 is more north, escondido is not in SD :) |
