Travel Info Which of these are more fun to visit San Diego ZOO, San Diego Wild Animal Park, or Sea world in San diego,? Travel Tips Great question! I lived in San Diego for seven years and visited all 3 several times. Sea World was my favorite, because of the awesome shows, rides, displays, etc. It's not all just "water" stuff either; there are some great bird shows that you can't miss! The downside is that it is the most expensive of the three. Second choice would definitely be the Wild Animal Park. They have a nice train ride and you can actually see animals in a environment similar to what they would have if they were free. The downside is that it is Escondido, far away from anything else. You can always stop off at the mall while you are in Escondido - "the North County Fair". It's one of the better malls in North County. Last, the zoo. The "World Famous San Diego zoo" is somewhat of a disappointment. The "headliner" are the pandas, and I never was able to catch a peak in the four visits I made to the zoo. It is a lot of walking over hilly terrain, but still a nice zoo if you haven't been to a large one like it or Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. Others The Wild Life Animal Park We love Seaworld. Something for everyone. Legoland is great too! It is a battle between the zoo & sea world,but i'd have to say sea world. Been to all 3! Seaworld gives you free beer b/c it's owned by Annheisher Busch, so that may be worth it for you. Honestly I would say the zoo or Animal park first. Sea world is over rated and way too expensive. The last time I went to the zoo (in May 2005) they were remodeling and it was a pain because you spent the whole day walking back and forth because the middle of the zoo (where all the paths intersect) was under construction so you had to continuously backtrack. I did get to see both the pandas but the zoo keepers are very pushy about moving people through. But the good thing about the zoo is its in Balboa park and you can go tp museums and other stuff there too. It has been a long time since I went to the Wild Animal park but I loved it. All the animals are out in open areas not in cages. It was pretty cool. I guess I would have to say the park 1st, the zoo-2nd, Sea World 3rd. Hope this helps |
