Howcome there are some places like a ballroom in a hotel with the air compressed in the room?

Howcome there are some places like a ballroom in a hotel with the air compressed in the room? I went to the Grand Hyatt in San Diego in August, 2006 and inside of the largest ballroom, when someone opens the door, tons of air comes out of the ballroom moving about 20 mph. Instead of the room being 5 psi which is normal ground level air its maybe 15-25psi.
