Travel Tips
I'm with you, San Diego is great. Came down here for college from the Bay Area 6 years ago and stayed after graduating. The city is awesome; people are friendly, it's laid back, great weather, not too crowded or congested, not polluted, cheaper than LA and SF, tons of events and things going on all the time, amazing beaches, nightlife, scenery, ect.... It's better than LA and just as great as the Bay Area. Everyone down here seems to love this place and it has a great vibe because of it. To bad you aren't here right now, I'm about to go join 30,000 people downtown for Mardi Gras! What other city on the west coast has a Mardi Gras parade where you can drink in the streets?

Others
I have lived 35 miles east of L.A. for TOO long (don't hold it against me!)
Back in the late 1970s when I was a high-schooler I used to compete in junior bowling leagues and tournaments. We had many annual tourneys-in November on Thanksgiving weekend we bowled at UNIVERSITY LANES in way-cool SD! Partied it up as well.
Now as an old fogey, I dig Downtown, Horton Plaza, and the shops by the sea...Long live SD!!
I lived in San Diego and I loved it. Then, I grew up. I got so tired of California. It's so busy and fast. I personally never found California and San Diego to be a friendly place. There are no seasons in California. You have one season: Summer.

I now live in Colorado and I LOVE IT. Love the snow - the more the better, love the seasons. Love everything about it. I even loved it when we got snowed in and couldn't drive anywhere for days. IIt was great driving in the cold and snow.

California is expensive. We would've never been able to purchase a house. We could barely pay our bills in CA, with two jobs.
Since we moved to Colorado three years ago, we retired (we're in our early 30s). I don't have to get up and go to work, I don't have to answer to a boss. Colorado has been fantastic for us.

San Diego and California in general is a great, great place to visit, but I can't imagine ever moving back.
I agree with you completely. I'm truly in love with San Diego. I actually live in Michigan which has horrible weather if you ask me, but I have family that lives in San Diego, so we usually go there for vacation once every 2 years or so. I'm hoping to move there one day. My mother is probably more in love with it than me though. She never stops talking about how great it is compared to Michigan.

San Diego is the best!
san diego has great weather and i like that there are tons of things to do and see - casinos, beaches, shopping, etc.
san diego doesn't have the hustle and bustle of LA, which is nice.
i visit hawaii (oahu and maui) often and would love to live there short term...
There are so many things to love about San diego. I would rather live here where the weather is great and visit places for short trips for snow, etc.

I agree there are lots of things to do in San Diego and the scenery is beautiful. I have found that most people are friendly as well.
