I want to move to San Diego soon?

Travel Info
I want to move to San Diego soon. I live about 8 hours away from there and would like any advice that anyone can offer. I have a big dog that I will not part with, so finding a place for him is important. Should I get a job first and then look for a place to live? I know that my question probably is dumb... but once again, and input would be appreciated. This is my first time moving out on my own....

Travel Tips
San Diego is a beautiful city to live in! We have everything here. People who say it's boring and for retirees must not have any friends or a life because there is always something to do here. We have 2 major club areas, shopping, dining, Mexico, and there is always the beach and all the water sports included with that.
I recommend setting up a job first or if you move down first make sure you have some extra money saved to get you by. Don't know what your skills are, but there is a lot of call centers down here that are always hiring for starters. I would also recommend calling a staffing agency and telling them your situation, they always set people up with employment quick. Sedona staffing is a good one. Good luck-you'll love it here!

and the good ole trusty ones!:

www.roommates.com & www.craigslist.com

(PS: if you go with one of the two, for some reason, it seems more people from Craigslist tend to be "more normal", but of course, Definitely TALK with whoever you move in with, please don't choose just Anyone!, if you decide to do that anyway)

Also, on Craigslist, there is a section that is for Sublets & Temporary housing too, for people who are moving away from there place, just like you are!)

Hope this helps!

PS: Please be careful, and always have a "Plan B" &a 'Plan C" too, if you can! I did the same thing you did, and I Love it here!!!

Good Luck to you girl!

Congratulation's on your Soon To Be Move!!! :-)
Me. :-)
Best advice that I can give you is don't move to San Diego. San Diego is expensive and overrated. Yeah the weather is nice but it is boring and overpriced. I have lived here for over 15 years and have stayed just b/c my family lives here. If you have options I would check out some other city's before making the move.
San Diego is definitely a nice place for retiring people. Young people go to LA to find jobs. I had stayed there for 2 months last year! I think it isnt the place for me!
First get a job before moving in San Diego. Try to have a short vacation over there before finally moving! Think it not only 2x, but a 100x. You dont know, you might be better in your place now!
