Are there Alligators & Snakes in SD like they have in Florida?

Travel Info
I know in Florida - they pop up all over - in your backyards etc...

I am moving to SD and really concerned...

Travel Tips
Alligators in South Dakota? I doubt that, its too cold, buy a warm coat. Snakes? Maybe rattlers, we have them up North, but they seem to mind their business if you mind yours.

Good luck in your new climate brrrrrrrrr

Others
is that south dakota, yes on snakes but only in the summer but no on alligators
There are snakes in SD but no Alligators...
You should not be concerned about either...
They might have a gator at the zoo, but you won't find one in your backyard.
Snakes are a different story.
Alligators reside comfortably in the San Diego Zoo, a few snakes in your backyard., garden variety. Rattlers in the back country, haven't seen them downtown in a century or so.
Rattlesnakes yes, alligators, only at the zoo.
The only alligators are alligator lizards in SD. As for snakes there are some, which you are only likely to encounter if you live in less urbanized areas. 3 species of rattlesnakes, but the most common snake is the harmless gopher snake.
