Why is there so many phillphinos in san diego? |
Travel Info of all the cities why that cites..i just wanna know ..cuz i love being with phillphinos Travel Tips It started by connection, through the Navy; and San Diego is a big Navy town and the west coast is the closest coast to the Philippines, next to Hawaii. (Lots of Filipinos there too). There used to be a U.S. Naval Base in the Philippines, (Subic Bay), and the U.S. recruited and allowed the Filipino men to join the U.S. Navy, and became citizens of the United States. When the sailors were stationed in some of the various U.S. cities with Naval bases, they would petitioned their extended family to the U.S to come and live and become U.S. citizens if they qualified. And some, by way of the American sailors, who would marry Filipino women when they were stationed in the Philippines. So, you'll see in Navy towns, many Filipinos settling there and surrounding cities. Especially in the cities where the climate is somewhat similar to the Philippines. That's how my dad's and mom's family made it to San Diego. Others Many came as they were in the military and then brought extended family. I believe that's why! All the cities in Callifornia have alot of philipinos. I think Los Angeles has the most. Probably because it is easy to get to the Phillipines from California. There are alot in Hawaii as well but I think you meant on the mainland. Navy. Because all the dumb sailors marry them and bring them back to the US. |
