Are there any good Salsa clubs in San Diego?

Travel Info
Im moving out there pretty soon, and I love to dance salsa and reggaeton. So asides from TJ are there any other places to dance this kind of music at in San Diego?

Travel Tips
Hi,

The comment from "psychepsych" about killing/deaths in TJ is a little over the top, but I won't get into that. In reality there are NO Salsa clubs in TJ. I have family that live there and I have looked on occasion out with my cousins. Mexicans in Mexico usually dance to Cumbia rather than Salsa.

Anyway, whenever I go somewhere I always consult this webpage first:

http://cityguides.salsaweb.com/...

It's Eddie "The Salsa Freak's" website. She is very popular in the Salsa world (I even met her once).

Another good option is to call all the dance studios in the SD area. What better source to ask than the dancers themselves!

Que viva la Salsa! Ciao! Source(s): An experienced Salsero & teacher to friends/family. I have gone to a lot of Salsa clubs throughout California (born/raised in OC and have lived/work in the SF/Sacramento).
Other Travel Tips
Personally, I don't go to TJ anymore because of how bad the environment is down there with kidnappings and deaths.

Anyhow, to answer your question... There is only a few clubs for us... Sevilla (downtown) is the best one. They also have Club Caribe in Bonita near chula vista, ca. Baja Club or Over the Border both in Chula Vista, ca is another one and I think they just opened another one up called HEAT (downtown).
ME =) I love dancing all that music too!
Yes, boy did I party in Downtown San Diego
As the sun sets, the Gaslamp Quarter streets transform into a nighttime playground where the scene is pumping. Every night of the week, there is something happening from special events to dancing, wine tastings to dinner shows and karaoke to coffee houses. Several Salsa Clubs & Raggae Clubs. Some free some not, walking from club to club. no car needed, park and walk all night.
The Gaslamp Quarter is truly the heart of nightlife in San Diego. ...ock bottom hip hop spinning all night long every Saturday starting at 10:30pm salsa @ sevilla dance lessons at 8pm | live band at 10pm tuesday | wednesday | thursdday

Cafe Sevilla Downtown and Club Caribe (this one is a little getto) it's also 18+. This is in bonita.
