Train from LAX to SanDiego? |
Travel Info I want to fly into Los Angeles and then take the train to San Diego...flying straight to SanDiego from here costs bocoup dinero...how do I do it? What train system is it? can I catch it easily from the airport??? And return from San Diego easily to LAX??? help please. Even the proper website to look at would be most appreciated. thanks much! Travel Tips just board the flyway bus Lax-Union station, it runs every 1/2 hour till past midnight then every hour till 5:00am then you can take Amtrak to San Diego, enjoy your trip Source(s): transportation expert Other Travel Tips I haven't taken it myself but have dropped friends off at the station! www.amtrak.com It says there's a station at LAX, you can take the train to Del Mar (which is just north of San Diego) or take it all the way in to downtown San Diego--depending on where you want to stay. www.amtrak.com It would take a bit of work but it is possible. You would have to take a metro bus to the green line station which is on the other side of the runway from the terminal. Once on the green line travel to Willowbrook Ave Station. Transfer to the metro blue line take it to the 7th street metro center. From there transfer to the red line subway and take that to Union Station. From Union Station take Amtrak to San Diego. You can take one of the shuttle vans to Union Station they would charge you about 40 dollars one way. http://www.metro.net/riding_metro/rail_i... I have never taken it myself, but there is something called the Flyaway shuttle that is a new service between LAX and the train station in Downtown LA. There is information on the MTA website, www.mta.net and at www.lawa.org/flyaway/#_blank. Hope that helps. |
